About Us

Ohana is a non-profit organization based in Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. We have been working on specific issues such as policy advocacy, disability rights and policy studies as well as legal drafter for social policies. Our organization has been initiated on March 2009 and it has been officially registered as a Non Government Organization on July 6, 2012. Ohana founders and members are the International Fellowship Program Alumnae who have existed on social justice and community development for the marginalized population in Indonesia.

Priority Areas

OHANA partners with organizations of persons with disabilities, across movements, with public and private sectors and philanthropy.

 

Leveraging the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, OHANA’s priority areas include:

  1. Raising awareness of disability inclusion

  2. Providing personal mobility aids

  3. Facilitating economic empowerment

  4. Preventing gender-based violence

Mandate

OHANA’s activities does not lobby or influence legislation. OHANA does not get involved in political campaigns or endorse candidates for public office. OHANA’s activities will not benefit private persons or noncharitable organizations.
