According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), women with disabilities face greater challenges in obtaining decent employment compared to non-disabled women or men with disabilities. They are also more vulnerable to poverty due to limited access to land, assets, healthcare services, and other basic needs. Moreover, government social assistance for women and girls with disabilities is almost nonexistent.

To address this issue, OHANA has developed this pilot program, supported by L'OREAL Paris, to help women with disabilities generate additional income. This program includes fish farming, bag-making and sewing projects, as well as a wheelchair repair workshop.

OHANA identifies women with disabilities who have the potential and conditions to start small-scale social enterprises. Through this program, they receive seed funding, technical assistance, and vocational training. Additionally, OHANA provides coaching during the startup phase, including handmade bag production and product marketing through an online application.
