2025
In 2025
there has been no significant progress related to the strengthening of regulations on the rights of persons with disabilities in Indonesia as recommended by the CRPD Committee in 2022, especially regarding the harmonization of discriminatory policies towards persons with disabilities. There are, however, affirmative and sectoral policies that can be noted in the following aspects:

The Government of Indonesia continues to monitor institutions/asylums (panti-panti) through the P5HAM Working Group (Pokja P5HAM), although practically it has not yet been able to reach many institutions across all regions in Indonesia. The P5HAM Working Group has just begun efforts to strengthen the standards and policies that will eventually be used to monitor these institutions more systematically. Nevertheless, support from various parties (within the P5HAM Working Group) must still be continually increased so that the working scheme of the P5HAM Working Group is more effective and addresses the problems faced by persons with psychosocial disabilities who reside in these institutions.
